Data Centers

Central Data Storage protects patient data in two geographically separate data centers. This gives us a safety net even if one of our centers is dealing with disaster.

In essence, customers are receiving two backups for the price of one. If you backup using almost any other service, they will base their data storage pricing on a single location.

Lincoln, NE

Central Data Storage’s Lincoln location is within our corporate offices, secured by a keycard lock with limited access. The servers are in a climate controlled room with an isolated circuit breaker from the rest of the building. All of the servers in this room are also connected to a Universal Power Supply (UPS).

A UPS is a battery that servers plug into instead of a wall outlet, which has two major benefits:

  1. Servers are able to run or given time to shutdown properly in the event of power outage.
  2. A clean and consistent 120VAC of power is provided to the servers at all times. Many people don’t realize that wall outlets often dip outside the applied voltage depending on demand and other variables. This fluctuation causes many issues with servers, but can be avoided by utilizing a UPS.

Omaha, NE

We are proud of our Lincoln setup, yet it takes a back seat in comparison to our Omaha data center. In Omaha, we collaborate with Cosentry’s Midlands Data Center.

This data center has redundant internet connections and power providers to go along with onsite electrical generators. Their uptime is over 99.9% with the building able to withstand over 250 MPH, which is 3 MPH less than the fastest wind ever recorded.

Security at our Omaha location is also state of the art with biometric scanning, chemical fire suppression and locked server cabinets. Additionally, it is:

  • OSHA compliant
  • LEED certified (energy efficient)
  • SAS 70 Type II certified
  • PCI DSS v1.2 compliant
  • SSAE 16 SOC II compliant
  • FISMA compliant
  • COBIT compliant
  • PCI compliant
  • HIPAA compliant

With our service, customers’ data is stored in at least two locations for a price based on the lowest compressed amount stored in a single location. Basically, customers being charged for 50GB of data are storing 100GB off-site, including 50 GB in each data center.

What Our Customers Say

“CDS managed online computer backup was quick, efficient, and thoroughly easy to use. It was truly as easy as a phone call and the staff was able to assist when a problem arose. I had the misfortune of having a total loss of data on my server, but the data was totally restored on my new server exactly as it had been up to the moment of the crash, no corruption or lost data. What a relief!”
